Creative Spaces

A number of things have inspired me to start an ongoing photography project, the first being the shootyourstudio.com blog which features a variety of studios shot by contributors, Niall McDiarmid’s excellent and regularly updated Crossing Paths project and finally Marc Wilson’s very ambitious The Last Stand project.

A spend a fair amount of time in the studio at work or at home working at my own desk working either on Architecture projects or Photography (or sometimes both). This gave me the idea to try and record the spaces of others who have similar set ups – Architects, Photographers, graphic designers, artists, engineers, writers and hopefully friends. Sure, it’s been done before by people such as Tim Soar for Architects offices, but I wanted to add a more personal slant to this. Some of these are friends, some are acquaintances, some I interact with in a professional manner. I want to express the individual character of these people and their spaces they work in as well as the items they surround themselves with. Anywhere that people create something. I’m not sure what the final output will be but I want to start a project and see where it takes me.

Here’s the first few images, the rest of the shots will collected on Flickr.
